Children of The Internet Soundtrack Announcement
I'm excited to announce the soundtrack for my series Children of The Internet! I've been working on this soundtrack for the last few months while juggling the animations for the episodes of the series. It's been a long and eventful process bringing not only this show to life, but also the soundtrack.
I wanted to mix in so many elements with this soundtrack. I took a lot of inspiration from Antent, Oneheart, Reidenshi, and Instupendo. They all paved a major way for the core themed content across social media throughout the last few years. I wanted to attach a lot of the feeling of this project to an ambient feeling, but I still had so much more room for this soundtrack to grow. Artist like Umami and JoelG also had a major impact on the soundtrack. Watching both Interface and Ena had such an impact on me before starting the production of Children of The Internet. Interface gave off this uneasy stability feeling that I can't really explain. I did my best to capture that unique feeling while also the unique madness of the music used in the Ena series. Songs like Webcore and Digital Domain from the soundtrack were direct nods to that series.
On my mission to connect with a lot of the sounds of the internet, I had the chance to work with 4Departing4 on a song. This is so far one of my biggest accomplishments. Working with someone I spent so much time listening to is probably one of the greatest feelings to have as an artist.
Then there's the core inspired music. When working on the show, one of the main goals was to personify internet concepts in the most unique way possible. I spent so many hours going down rabbit holes about internet aesthetics and cores. Dreamcore, Weirdcore, Oddcore, Traumacore, Emptycore/Liminal Spaces, Nostalgiacore, and many more were torn apart and recreated into new and unique characters that as far as I'm aware of have never been personified.
Finally, my favorite song on the project, Internet Labyrinth. This song was a major piece to this unique puzzle. It's taken so much time to bring this song to life. When starting the early draft of this soundtrack, I wanted to create a unique song like Duvet by Boa. I remember watching Serial Experiments Lain and hearing that song at the beginning of each episode. Originally the plan was to have Internet Labyrinth play at the end of each episode. Unfortunately it was many delays with the song and other issues with the show so I only officially have it playing on one episode.
Things change when it comes to creating things, but one thing that's not changing is that my lead single for the soundtrack will be Internet Labyrinth. I will be releasing the music video and full song on 07/17/24.
This soundtrack is a unique experience, and I can't wait to share the full experience with everyone!
